1. What Top Spot is
Top Spot is a free, skill-and-entertainment pick'em game built around the NBA regular season. Users pick one NBA game per day to predict a winner. There is no entry fee and no real-money wagering. The prize is two tickets to a first-round NBA playoff game. If a winner is unable to use the tickets (e.g., they're outside the US/Canada), Top Spot may work with that winner individually on an alternative way to deliver equivalent value, at its sole discretion. The prize is awarded to whoever finishes the season in first place on the leaderboard. Nothing on this site is, or should be understood as, a gambling product, a sportsbook, or an offer to wager.
2. No NBA affiliation
Top Spot is an independent, unofficial fan project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the National Basketball Association, its teams, or any of their officers, players, or partners. Team names, logos, and marks that appear in the app belong to their respective owners and are used solely to identify the real games being picked — not to suggest any partnership with or approval from the NBA or any team.
3. Who can use Top Spot
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are between 13 and the age of legal majority where you live, you should have a parent or guardian's permission before playing.
Flagged for a decision: 13+ was chosen as a conventional baseline (it lines up with common U.S. children's-privacy practice under COPPA), not a legal conclusion for this specific product. Raise the minimum (e.g. to 16 or 18) if that fits your risk tolerance better, especially once a physical prize is actually being shipped to a winner.
4. Accounts
One account per person. Accounts are personal and non-transferable — you may not create, control, or use multiple accounts to pick more than once per day, to inflate your own leaderboard standing, or to influence who wins the season prize. We may investigate suspected multi-accounting or other manipulation of the leaderboard, and we may warn, suspend, adjust the score of, or permanently disqualify any account we reasonably believe was used to abuse the game, including disqualifying that account from the season prize. Keep your sign-in link/email private — you're responsible for activity on your account.
5. Odds and results come from third parties
Game schedules and final scores are pulled from ESPN's public scoreboard feed; betting-market moneylines (used only to decide how many points a correct pick is worth) are pulled from The Odds API. We don't control either source. Data from them can be delayed, temporarily wrong, or occasionally missing, and Top Spot's scoring is only as accurate as what those feeds report at the time. If a game's result or odds is later found to be wrong, we may correct it and re-score affected picks, but we make no guarantee that every score will always be perfectly accurate in real time.
6. No purchase, no cash value
Participation is free. The season prize (two tickets to a first-round playoff game) has no cash-equivalent option and cannot be exchanged, transferred for value, or redeemed for money. We are not responsible for ticket availability, seating, event changes, or cancellation by the venue or league.
7. Changes, downtime, and discontinuation
We may modify these terms, the scoring rules, the leaderboard, or any other part of the game at any time. We may also suspend, pause, or permanently discontinue Top Spot at any time, for any reason, including mid-season. If we discontinue the game before a season ends, we'll do our best to communicate that and settle standings fairly based on games already played, but no specific outcome is guaranteed.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Top Spot is provided "as is," with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, uptime, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the game, scoring errors, downtime, or the eventual award (or non-award) of the season prize. Your only remedy for dissatisfaction with the game is to stop using it.
9. Your data and account deletion
We store the minimum needed to run the game: your email (for sign-in), a username, and your pick/score history (needed for the leaderboard). You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account. When you do, we deauthorize your login and remove your username as an identifier, replacing it with an anonymous placeholder. Your historical pick results stay in the season's scoring data in anonymized form so that other players' standings and the season leaderboard remain accurate — deleting your account does not let you (or anyone else) rewrite the season's history. See Settings for the exact deletion flow, or email
playtopspot@gmail.com with questions about your data.
